Adele was born in Teesside, NE England and enjoyed a traditional childhood, watching too much TV and eating convenience food. After graduating from Leicester University, she worked in advertising as a management consultant.
Adele’s first novel – Playing Away – was published in 2000. She’s prolific and since then has written 18 novels in 18 years, all of which have been bestsellers. She’s translated into 26 different languages. She’s written in various genres: romantic comedy, historical, phycological thrillers and domestic noir.
Whatever period or genre, she’s known for examining the thorny issues of the lives people lead with her trademark, up-front, tell-it-as-it-is style. Her latest novel I Invited Her In is a blistering tale of wanting what you can’t have, jealousy and revenge.
