An exhibition of work by Larry Dunne Opening Reception Saturday 6th July at 7pm

Larry Dunne is a Wexford based visual artist & illustrator, having studied Fine Art Painting in NCAD and Cultural Event Management in IADT, Dunne returned to Wexford in 2017 to continue his career in the visual arts with emphasis on his own practice of surreal and vibrant illustrations.
Dunne is currently the visual arts editor & cover illustrator at Tales from the forest, a quarterly online magazine of art, poetry & fiction, brand designer & Illustrator at E.A.T, the Enniscorthy Arts Trail, an annual cultural event that transforms vacant venues every August Bank Holiday weekend into artists studios & galleries and is currently visual arts & marketing associate at the Presentation Arts Centre Enniscorthy.
Quare Taken tackles the homophobia and prejudice Dunne experienced while growing up in rural Ireland. The surreal and vibrant nature of his illustrations juxtaposed with the harsh reality of homophobia that Dunne experienced in his hometown is a fascinating response, and provides an insight into the enduring effects that such an environment can have on mental health.
